Bell Ringers Net

Net Control Station (NCS) Saturday Procedures

Before Net time

• Listen and get the frequency.
• IF using a PC to monitor our chat room, have it booted up and ready
• Have Short Check-In list ready and pencils/pens. Full Roster is available here. A Call Sign Suffix list is also available here.
  

Open the Net on time

• Give the Preamble:

• Announce "We are on the web at tparca.org, click Bell Ringers "
  

Establish Relay Stations (if needed, based on propagation)

• One or two is probably enough -- (Good candidates are N0SAP, KB4BW, WA9JNM, K9JWJ, KQ4OW)
• Ask Relay #1to Announce "..this is (callsign) and this is The Bell Ringers Net and I will be a Relay Station
• Ask Relay #2 to Announce"...this is ( callsign ) and this is The Bell Ringers Net and I will be a Relay Station

Announcements

• Brief announcements of interest to all members. Example -- Stone Mountain Fest
  

Short-Timer Check-Ins

• Net Control Station (NCS) -- ask for short-timers (announce what stations are heard)
• Relay #1 Please ask for short-timers (NCS announce list of all short timers)
• Relay #2 Please ask for short-timers (NCS announce list of all short timers)
• NCS start calling on Short-Timers
  

Roll Call of Regular Check-ins

• NCS Roll Call for #1- 100
• Please give your member number THEN your callsign
• NCS announce what is heard

• Relay #1 call for #1 - 100
• NCS announce what is heard

• Relay #2 call #1 - 100
• NCS announce what is heard
• summarize the list of check-ins in 1-100 range

• NCS call for #1 through end of list
• NCS announce what is heard

• Relay #1 call for #1 through end of list
• NCS announce what is heard

• Relay #2 call for #1 through end of list
• NCS announce what is heard

Announce Rotation Sequence of Check-ins

• NCS announce the rotation sequence:
• first station in check-in list heard, give it to second, second give it to third, etc
• NCS ask Relay #1 to PLEASE repeat the sequence.
• NCS ask Relay #2 to PLEASE repeat the sequence.
  

Moderate the Rotation

• Request stations to limit transmission to 2 or 3 minutes maximum.
• Stay for a second rotation if you have more
• Frist station please give us your comments, then give it to second station, etc.
• NCS stay tuned, use relays, moderate as required.
  

Call for Late Check-ins

• Use above rotation procedures for late check-ins

Close the Net

• At end thank all.
• Announce "This has been a regular session of the Bell Ringers Net"
• "The frequency is returned to normal Amateur Radio use"
