Sharing Web Links

In addition to typing your text for sending to chat participants, you can also paste text that you have copied from elsewhere. A popular example of this is for sharing web links of interest. You can paste (or type) a web URL into the message box and send it -- participants will see it as a clickable link. When a chat participant clicks on the link, the chat program will attempt to open it in a new browser window or a new browser tab.  NOTE: Most web links will appear truncated in the chat window, but will work if you click on one.

If your browser is configured to block pop-up windows, the link probably won't open, and you may also be dumped out of chat. If you experience this problem with your web browser, it should be resolved by use of the settings described below.

The solution is to configure the browser's pop-up blocking to allow the chat program to open a pop-up. Below are instructions to configure some popular browsers. You do not need to be logged into chat to perform these steps. Refer any questions to WA5MLF.
